She has been recognized with a Community Leadership Award from the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports, and Nutrition for her dedication to improving lives through fitness, sports, and nutrition programs. With over 35 years of experience as a personal trainer, educator, and lifestyle expert, Jyl has sold more than 2 million books, empowering individuals to embrace healthy living through proper nutrition and exercise.
Jyl’s true passion lies in “Building A Healthier Future for Children.” She envisions transforming education by introducing a “Healthy Wellness” curriculum in schools and homeschools, starting from kindergarten through the 6th grade. Her Hip Hop Healthy Heart for Children™ program focuses on educating the “Whole Child,” providing them with the tools to flourish both mentally, physically, and emotionally. The program includes the first plant-based curriculum, Plant Power! – Plant-Based Nutrition for Healthy Kids, along with initiatives like JOIN THE GREEN TEAM for environmental awareness and Homeopathy for promoting lifestyle and behavioral changes.
Jyl’s latest initiative, Clap4Health©, combines wellness, fitness, and mindfulness, while raising funds for schools, organizations, and corporations across the nation. Based on Acupressure Theory, the program highlights the benefits of clapping, which stimulates 340 known pressure points, 28 of which are located in the hands. Clap4Health© is designed to encourage physical activity and happiness, promoting the idea of creating “A Circle of Wellness that Works!”
In addition to her wellness initiatives, Jyl has published her newest cookbook, “Think Outside The Lunchbox,” featuring 250 plant-based, nutritious recipes that the whole family can enjoy. A mother of four amazing children, Jyl loves playing pickleball and taking daily hikes through the desert with friends, family, and her white Siberian husky wolf, “Journey.”
